Job Description:
Schedule: Hours: M-F, 8A-6P with possibility for some weekends
Location: Orlando, FL
Other duties as assigned.
Acts as a resource to pharmacy, risk management, quality, and performance improvement departments.
Leads the review and evaluation of medication safety practices and recommends process improvements.
Manages and implements medication safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
Oversees adverse drug event reporting activities and evaluates significant medication variances.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Competent in medical terminology, medication names and medication use [Required] • Proficient with prescription-filling software and other computer skills [Required] • Ability to work under pressure [Required] • Ability to interact professionally with public and other medical staff [Required] • Knowledge of compounding oral/topical medications [Required]
Education: • Associate's in physical science, business or healthcare related field [Preferred] • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study: • N/A
Work Experience: • 3+ years pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill or hospital setting [Required] • 5+ years retail pharmacy experience [Preferred] • Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity. [Preferred] • Prior experience processing and filling prescriptions [Preferred]
