Position Summary: The Acute Care Float Pharmacist ensures prompt and accurate pharmaceutical care services for patients, nurses, and physicians. This professional position operates independently with limited supervision. Work situations require good knowledge of pharmacotherapy and pharmacy practice, precision, attention to detail, service-oriented, good problem solving and appropriate decision-making, possess effective time management and communication skills. Internal contacts are primarily with pharmacy staff, nursing staff, and management. External contacts include physicians, patients, vendors, and outside health care facilities. Float Pharmacists are initially trained in the central pharmacy at MHS facilities and may have the opportunity to expand their role to specialized areas once solid competency and performance has been established. Those who provide pharmacy coverage at Wellfound will require additional training.
Minimum Requirements: Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency preferred One (1) or more years pharmacy experience preferred in setting appropriate to work assignment (hospital, retail, clinic or other)
