The primary function of the Pharmacy Supervisor, Inpatient/Outpatient Sections is to direct and coordinate the daily workflow and operational activities within the Pharmacy, as well as to support productivity as a working pharmacist. These activities include helping to coordinate staff scheduling and staff assignments, as well as workflow monitoring and management, direct veteran and non-veteran patient customer service, and working on-line as a pharmacist. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Licensure. Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registration if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. B. Communicates and coordinates with purchasing and inventory control personnel to ensure appropriate communication and adequate stock inventory based on prescription volume. C. Monitors and supports pharmacy compliance with existing regulatory rules, laws and standards. F. Assists in the recommendation, drafting and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. G. Is responsible for the security of the assigned area particularly as it relates to controlled substances. Incumbent helps to ensure departmental and medication security, including controlled substances as required by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Drug Enforcement Agency. Provides first-line personnel management and assists program manager when counseling intervention may be warranted. I.
