Billings Clinic Cancer Center embraces a team-focused multidisciplinary care approach. As part of this multidisciplinary approach, Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacists are available to support patients on oral cancer treatment in the Medical, Hematologic, and Gynecologic Oncology clinics. The Oral Oncology Management Program was established in July of 2017 and has grown to two full time Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacists and this position is for one of these positions. The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacists in Oral Oncology in this clinic work closely with the Cancer Center and Billings Clinic Specialty Pharmacy to assist patients on oral cancer treatments, utilizing a collaborative practice agreement to monitor care effectively and efficiently.
This program provides many services for patients receiving oral cancer treatment. These services include:
Medication education
Dosing and treatment review
Drug interaction review
Side effect management
Laboratory monitoring
Follow up for medication tolerance and adherence
Patients on an oral oncolytic and followed by a Billings Clinic provider in the Medical, Hematologic, or Gynecologic Oncology department may be referred to the Oral Oncology Management program for medication management.

Billings Clinic has an established comprehensive Cancer Center that includes Radiation Oncology services, Hematology/Medical Oncology services and Gynecological Oncology services.? Each service line embraces a team-focused multidisciplinary care approach in the delivery of high-quality patient care. ?Various cancer specialists, such as surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, pharmacists, radiation therapists, nurses, and nurse navigators, work together to provide the highest level of evidence-based, comprehensive, and coordinated cancer care possible.? ?An ancillary support team is in place to compliment the medical team which include social workers, dieticians, chaplains, receptionists, financial counselors, palliative and supportive care, and others. This interaction ensures that all areas of patient and family needs are being met.
Three (3) years of clinical experience in the specialty area of oncology with direct patient care/clinical ambulatory care setting. 3. Bachelor's or Pharm.D. degree received from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
State of Montana pharmacist license or eligible.
Eligible to sit for the BCOP/BCACP within 1 year of hire
Preferred:
PGY2 in Oncology, Ambulatory Care, or related area
BCOP / BCACP
CPP in state of Montana
Clinical experience in Oncology, specifically around management of specialty medications in these areas.
